Process

  1. intent

The primary intent of our projects and ventures is to promote the physical, emotional & financial well-being of individuals globally. This thematic focus allows us to be grounded from a 'first principles' perspective.

We have aligned our macro portfolio intent with the UN Sustainable Development Goal #3 and while pursuing that goal we hope to make a difference in reducing inequalities, promoting economic growth and, in turn, reducing poverty as outlined broadly in goals #10, #5, #8 & #1.

Refer to the full set of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals here.

2. Origination & Structuring

We looked at 1000+ ideas, explored 30+ projects & are launching 3 ventures. Each project typically goes through the following stages.

A

Empathize & Frame problem

B

Design

C

Ideate

D

Prototype

E

Test

F

Launch

We examine the actions, patterns, structures & beliefs of the ecosystem participants to get a deeper understanding. This helps us frame the problem better, consider the theory of change and ideate more effectively.

During this process we form diverse project teams, conduct surveys, perform market research, develop pitch decks & seek aligned investors.

3. pOrtfolio management

We use a results framework to monitor progress on the impact that we envisaged having. This will be measured at a KPI level for each individual venture and aggregated at an overall portfolio level.

Trend analysis during the life of the venture will help indicate any potential upcoming breaches so we can actively work with the portfolio company's management team to provide support and mitigate risk.

4. impact

What: Record & quantify each outcome during the monitoring period and qualify its importance to the people experiencing it.

Who: The primary beneficiaries of the impact will be the underserved communities that the ventures serve. In addition, we seek to create value for employees, vendors and the communities that they live in.

How much: We would like to analyze the impact over time, depth, region & scale.

Contribution: We seek to measure our delta impact by performing a what-if-we-weren't-there analysis.

Risk: We run scenarios that factor in the risk of our ventures failing. These scenarios help highlight the impact on the people & communities that would occur upon failure.
